Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt Tag!

Hi everyone! I was looking for a book tag to complete when when I came across this one on a blog called Book Nut. Here is a link to her amazing post! I’m not sure who created this book tag, but it was a wonderful idea, so thank you for doing so! ❤️

1. Find an author name or title with a ‘Z’ in it.

I loved The Underland Chronicles series so much! Also, I actually read this book before reading The Hunger Games, and when I found out that they were both by Suzanne Collins, I was even more excited! This is more of a juvenile-fiction book, but I think that I would still like it even now!

2. Find a classic.

I’ve never read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee before! I really need to though, I’ve heard that it’s wonderful!

3. Find a book with a key on it.

I read When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead a long time ago, and I remember really liking it! Also, the cover is so cute!

4. Find something on your bookshelf that is not a book.

MR. GNOMEY!!! He gets a large picture because he’s special! Thank you to my absolutely wonderful best friend for gifting this to me! I love him (and you!) so much!

5. Find the oldest book on your shelf.

I don’t know! Maybe A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens? I also don’t know why I have it, but I do!

6. Find a book with a girl on it.

Oh my gosh, I loved reading Loveboat Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen! It was really good! Also, Ever is so pretty!

7. Find a book that has an animal in it.

I think that there’s only two animals in Out of my Mind by Sharon Draper, Ollie and Butterscotch, but I might be wrong! This book was absolutely amazing, and it’s definitely a must-read!

8. Find a book with a male protagonist.

Auggie from Wonder by R.J. Palacio! For those of you who haven’t read this book, you need to! It was wonder–ful! 😉

9. Find a book with only words on the cover.

Ooo, this one was hard! I think Not If I Save You First by Ally Carter counts! There’s snow, but we can pretend it’s not there!

10. Find a book with illustrations in it.

I am Princess X by Cherie Priest was SO good! Definitely an underrated YA book! It has comics in between the pages, which were really interesting to read!

11. Find a book with gold lettering.

The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer! This was such an interesting series! I don’t think that I ever made it past the fifth book, but it was a really enjoyable read!

12. Find a diary, true or fictional.

Haha, I had to choose this series! 😂 I love reading the Dairy of a Wimpy Kid books so much! Jeff Kinney is really funny!

13. Find a book written by an author with a common name (like Smith).

I haven’t read The Books of Elsewhere: The Shadows by Jacqueline West in a long time, but I think that I liked it! West is a fairly common last name, so there we go!

14. Find a book with a close-up of something on it.

Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I liked it for the most part!

15. Find a book that takes place in the earliest time period.

I don’t know again! Maybe Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson?

16. Find a hardcover book without a jacket.

Tadaa! I found one! I love reading all of the recipes in The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook by Dinah Bucholz! If you are a Potterhead and you like to cook/bake, then you need this book in your life!

17. Find a teal/turquoise covered book.

The cover of this book is so pretty! I actually got this on sale at Barnes and Noble, and though I haven’t read it yet, I really want to! I’ve heard so many good things about Jane Austen’s books!

18. Find a book with stars on it.

I read The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler when I was in elementary school, and I loved it! I don’t remember if I read the rest of the series, but the plot was so intriguing! Also, who doesn’t love mermaids?

19. Find a non-YA book.

I got In Focus Astrology: Your Personal Guide by Sasha Fenton from Costco, and it was really interesting and informative! I don’t know if I really believe in astrology, but it was fun to learn about!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that you have a wonderful day! I’m tagging everyone who wants to do this! ❤️—Rishika

  1. Have you read “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson? It’s a good, but really sad book, I think you might like it, but there’s not a ton of romance in it! Btw- do you know the artist for the cover of Loveboat Taipei? Hahah

    1. Yes I have read it read Speak and I really liked it! As for the cover, I’m sorry I don’t know! I checked in the book and it said that the interior art is by Shutterstock/Orgus88, but I don’t think that means the cover. I also tried searching it up and I couldn’t find anything! I’ll let you know if I do though!
