This is my favorite quote ever!!!
“The truth is what I make it. I could set this world on fire and call it rain”(Aveyard 352).
Goodreads synopsis: This is a world divided by blood – red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

Spoiler-free review: I enjoyed reading this book so much! The first time I read this book was about two years ago, and since I was bored, I thought that I would read it again! And oh my gosh, I forgot how good this book was! The synopsis was already so intriguing, and once I started reading it, I couldn’t stop! The plot is absolutely amazing and I loved the way it was written! Victoria Aveyard is a genius!!! A GENIUS! 😄 Also, I love the idea of silver blood! It sounds so pretty! 😂
Anywho, one of my favorite things about this book were of the characters! Mare is AMAZING! Throughout the book, I continued to imagine Mare with red hair, but she doesn’t! She has brown! Which then made me realize that I was thinking of America from The Selection series because Aspen calls her ‘Mer’! It was my amazing discovery of the day! Also, America and Mare have similar personalities, and The Selection definitely reminded me of this book! So if you liked that book, then Red Queen is for you! This book is FULL of romance, and I just loved everything about it! I am so excited to read the rest of the series, but there is a five week wait on Libby for the second book! 😕 I’m so sad!
Also, who wants a movie for this book?! Because I do!!! I really hope that it gets turned into one soon, I feel like this story would be amazing to watch on-screen! Overall, I definitely think that this is a dystopian YA must-read! I loved it! ❤️
Thank you so much for reading and I hope that you have a wonderful day! —Rishika 😋
